Few things put a smile on your face like 4 and 5 year olds in their year-end costumes on stage.
Last night was such a priviledge.
The children of Valmary Park had their year end concert. The theme was mice.
Look at these pics and feel the innocence, the joy and the first traces of "stage-fright" in some.
These angels will one day lead boardroom-discussions, balance state-budgets and fly jets across the oceans. Unreal!
some took the biker-mice theme quite far and as the soundtrack "revved" the Harley's engine, you could see some fathers in the audience just about leap from their seats with pride & excitement. (and perhaps a bit of midlife-adventure-angst kicking in)
The little girls are of course my favourite; as nowhere is the princess-ballerina -Cinderella nostalgia more evident.
and of course the reason we chased from Cape Town to bee in the Baptist-Church for the show: Olivia. Look at this little angel.
Well done Jann and Doug. Your children are beautiful and make me believe that kids are not such an alien-concept and that they bring joy (along with the initial dirty nappies and insomnia)
More publicity for our little person of the week:
