person of the week: The Queen of course

She wins this week's award because she has
awesome jewellery.
She is the envy of all....
She out- Blings everybody!
Her sceptre has mounted on its top:
such a beautiful diamond, it has its own name !
The First Star of Africa.
This is the largest flawless cut diamond in the world
and weighs 530 carats.

This and the Second Star of Africa
of 317 carats (in the Imperial State Crown)
were cut from the celebrated Cullinan Diamond,
the largest diamond ever found.
Weighing over 3,000 carats,
the Cullinan was given to King Edward VII
by the Government of the Transvaal (South Africa) in 1907.
She has big rocks !

our person of the week.
she has been a girl-guide since age 11
and was home schooled by the most imposing of minds...

She received tuition from her father, the king and
had sessions with Henry Marten, the Vice-Provost of Eton.
Religion was taught by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Princess Elizabeth also learned French from a number of French and Belgian governesses.

She studied art and music, learned to ride,
and became a strong swimmer.
She made such a beautiful speech on her 21st birthday,
which she celebrated in Cape Town.

Happy Diamond- jubilee!
